When you or a loved one require extended medical care or therapy after hospitalization for surgery, illness or injury, Luther Manor is here to help you on the road to recovery.

Our Rehabilitation Center offers therapy services in a comfortable, healing environment. Skilled nursing care is provided by a dedicated team of professionals and licensed, experienced therapists who offer one-on-one care. Whether you need physical, occupational or speech therapy services, we can help.

Our team of nurses, therapists, social workers and client relations professionals will work with hospital discharge planners and physicians to make your transition to the Rehabilitation Center effortless. During your stay, we will provide education and support to prepare you and your family for your return home.

Luther Manor has medical doctors on-site to oversee your recovery; however, we will work with your current doctor during your stay, provided he can be reached to verify your medication and therapy needs. Dr. Mark Horneffer is our medical director and runs our medical services.

Privacy with all the comforts of home

The Rehabilitation Center, located adjacent to our outdoor courtyard, is a designated area within the Luther Manor Wauwatosa campus. In addition to personalized, expert medical care, our center offers a variety of accommodations and services to provide you with comfort, privacy and a positive overall health care experience.

Rehabilitation Center amenities include:

  • Separate entrance with convenient visitor parking
  • Televisions, DVD players, and telephones in each room
  • Dining room and in-room meal service options, as well as snacks and beverages
  • Personal laundry service
  • Computers with Internet access
  • Abundance of natural light

While the Rehabilitation Center is a separate facility on the Luther Manor campus, our guests and visitors are welcome to take advantage of our many on-site amenities: a pharmacy, a beauty salon and barber shop, two convenience stores, an ice cream parlor and a variety of social and entertainment opportunities. Luther Manor offers Lutheran church services on Sunday mornings and Catholic Mass twice a month.

What to expect

Here is some additional information to help you plan your stay at the Rehabilitation Center (click here for a printable pdf of the Rehabilitation Center Welcome Guide):

  • Medications are provided. Don’t worry about remembering to bring medications. During your stay, all of your medications will be provided by Luther Manor’s on-site pharmacy.
  • Pack comfortable clothes. Bring nightwear, undergarments, a robe, socks, walking shoes, and clothes you can layer. Laundry service is complimentary during your stay. You may also want to bring a tooth brush, tooth paste, mouthwash, a comb or brush, and lotion – although these items are available at Luther Manor.
  • Meals are provided. Three nutritious meals, plus snacks, are served daily. You can have snacks in your room, but we ask that they be kept in airtight containers.
  • Leave valuables at home. For short stays, bring only the necessities and we’ll provide the rest. Each of the 27 private rooms in our Rehabilitation Center has a telephone, television, DVD player, reclining chair, dresser, nightstand, clock, clothes hamper and electric bed.
  • Visitors welcome: Family, friends and guests are welcome at any time with no specific visiting hours. Pets are also welcome to visit while you recuperate, as long as they are on a leash.
