Choosing A Quality Hospice Provider
When a loved one is terminally ill and is in pain, it can be hard to know where to turn for help. Hospice provides extensive care to help alleviate pain by utilizing an interdisciplinary team of healthcare professionals and trained volunteers that address symptom control, pain management, and emotional and spiritual support tailored to the patient’s wishes and needs. The focus is on caring, not curing.
A quality hospice provider will be the model of high-quality, compassionate care that helps the patient and the family live as fully as possible. The National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization has put together a questionnaire to help you identify factors that could be important to you when selecting a hospice.
