Luther Manor believes a community’s quality of life is measured in no small part by how it treats those who need a helping hand the most. Because we believe every person deserves to live a full and abundant life, in 1985, the Luther Manor Foundation was created to provide long-term financial support for Luther Manor and its residents.

Because of Foundation subsidies to program areas, no resident has ever had to leave Luther Manor due to an inability to pay for care. This would not be possible without the generous financial support of individuals, businesses and foundations as well as the continued partnership of 73 congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), Greater Milwaukee Synod.

Why support the Foundation? The fastest growing population segment in America is the 85+ category. As longevity increases, more people outlive their ability to pay for health care simply because they are living longer. Many individuals that planned well and often led frugal lives find themselves without the necessary reserves to pay for the increasing cost of long-term care. At the same time, Medicaid reimbursement (the government paid program for skilled nursing care) continues to fall short of the actual cost of providing care. The Luther Manor Foundation fills the gap. The Foundation’s primary resource is the Resident Support Fund. Only the earnings from this fund are used to carry out our mission. Every gift is retained to continue to generate future earnings for:

• Supplemental funding for residents who outlive their own financial resources
• Grants to help bridge the gap created by inadequate Medicaid reimbursements
• Support for community service programs, outreach and senior ministry such as the Adult Day Center, the Parish Nurse program, Care Management services and information, referral and educational programs
• Seed money for new programs and services to meet the emerging needs of seniors

How You Can Help

• Make a gift by printing, completing and returning the gift form along with a check to Luther Manor.
• Memorialize or honor a loved one with a gift to the Foundation.
• Include Luther Manor in estate planning.
  

We appreciate each gift and all donors are welcomed to our Donor Recognition Society. Donors who make provisions for Luther Manor Foundation through planned gifts or charitable estate planning are welcomed to the Heritage Partners Society.
