Senior Ministry Partnership Initiative (SMPI)
The SMPI hopes to equip partner congregations with education, resources and funding to respond to the changing and complex profile of maturing Christians. The initiative began in 2007 with an educational symposium and the introduction of the annual congregational partnership grant process.
Senior Ministry Congregational Partnership Grant
Luther Manor invites partner ULPA congregations to apply for a grant of up to $4,000 yearly to help support the development of innovative programs and models of senior adult ministry. Click here to access and download the grant information and application. Applications are due by September 15. Click here to see a list of grants awarded in 2008 and 2009.
Parish Nurse Program
In partnership with congregations, parish nurses help maturing adults, families and congregational members embrace health and wholeness. Parish Nurses and health ministry assists congregations to reclaim the Gospel message to teach, preach and heal. As a member of the partnering congregation's staff, they link those they serve to community resources; promote healthier living through exercise, diet and preventative health care; train volunteers and provide education and personal health counseling.

Adult Day Services give caregivers
a break from the full-time responsibilities of caring for a loved one
at home, especially those coping with Alzheimer's disease (See Adult Day
Center on this Web Site).
